It is the tongue that tastes the sweetness or the bitterness of anything; hence the power to break or make your vision is within you and indeed on your tongue. After growing up in a life of being told you will never amount to anything, I almost believed that lie until I met another man whose confession changed my life. This man was my high school headmaster and this is what he had to say about us: ‘Mazowe gentlemen: For the mind ahead of their time’ Literally, we were supposed to be called Mazowe Boys, because it was a boy’s high school, but the headmaster deemed it fit to view us the other way, that is, as gentlemen. He did not see us at our current levels, but he rather saw our destinations. This statement was repeated in my life for about two years and it changed me completely. I realised that our thinking shapes our vision because of the law of attraction, but a vision is nothing to other people until it is manifested in tangible and physical form when it is realised. It will remain a pipe dream like a granny who dreams about suckling from the mother’s breasts.
Creation of a dream therefore is done through speaking or confession. No one can dispute that God created the whole universe through confession; everything that is known was spoken into being. Man was given the same power to create through speaking. If you look around yourself you will note that what you are, is what you spoke yourself into being or what other people spoke you into being. When it comes into visions, dreams and businesses many people do not believe that you can speak them into being. The problem is that we are so accustomed to negative confession hence the negative result that we have.
Have you ever imagined why there are so many wars in this world or so much domestic violence in homes? The answer lies in what was spoken. If the mother did not say what she said to the father and the father did not say what she said to the mother that fight would not have been. Or if America did not say what it said to Osama Bin Laden and Osama Bin Laden had not said what he said to America, then the confrontation between the former and the latter would have not been there. Away with national politics and domestic issues, let us come back to visions. Like I mentioned in the previous chapters, a vision is an invisible destination that no one knows or can see except you. By confessing it now and again, you are bringing it closer to manifestation. The graveyard is rich because of people who had great visions, but lacked the creative power to transform that dream into being. This confession should be heart confession, not what others will call lip service. One must be able to vow that come rain come thunder, this is what I believe in and I am going to achieve this and most assuredly, you will become just that. Below is a statement from a document called Leadership Excellence compiled by Parvin Rajpal: ‘I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was’ Mohammed Ali We all know that this guy was the King of the ring, but he did not start like that. He discovered that in throwing fists, he was good (talent discovering), and he believed no one could stand in his way and he spoke it even before he was known. What then did he create? One of the greatest ever boxers the ring has ever known. This is all because he said and it became.
Well get me right. I did not say that you have to go to the roof top and shout to the world that this is my vision, lest you fall victim to vision thieves. There are so many people in this world who have made money out of other people’s visions. Having thus stated, sporting people of all disciplines and especially footballers to be more specific come to mind. These are good example of people who are on the roof top shouting out their visions, and along will come Mr Clever guy who has mastered the art of reading and writing and he will stand in front of Mr Footballer, purportedly to bargain for a fair deal for the unfortunate sportsman, when in actual fact he is tapping into another man’s vision. Well such is life. The worst case scenario is when a person then robs away the whole of your vision. For example, they say Christopher Columbus discovered the Americas (as it was known then), continents already inhabited. Does it then mean that those inhabitants and or natives of the said continent did not know that they were staying in that particular continent? In actual fact, Christopher Columbus was simply the first man who arrived there who could read and write; hence he became famous for something that was already discovered and already in existence. So the first thing is to confess your vision to yourself, say it repeatedly to yourself, look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that your are going to make it. Do not deceive yourself and tell yourself that ‘I say it in my heart’. No, that will be incorrect.
There are some people who are not even able to stand before the mirror and confess their greatness. By so doing, you are diminishing the much needed confidence needed to announce your vision to others. As you develop that self confidence acquired through repeatedly telling yourself that you are great, you can then find people who are going the way you are going and listen to them and also speak to them about your vision. Avoid the chicken hearted people who will always see the rain in any situation. Hence the famous statement “Birds of a feather flock together” (birds of synonymous plumage perambulate gregariously). There is power in sharing your vision, but this should be done with wisdom lest you fall victim of being there done by the crowd. Having thought about the vision, and spoken about it then what? Having done all these, therefore begin to walk the talk. In other words begin to implement your vision, and remember: A great book starts with a single Word A great song starts with a Rhythm A great business starts with a Vision And a great journey starts with one step. I like what Preachers say when preaching they say ‘Step into your vision’. This is from the understanding that after all is said and done one needs to step into the vision. To the contrary most have spoken about their vision and are waiting for the Fat Lady to sing hence they have become story tellers.
